Methods

How the different methods fit together

Person-Centred

The relationship is collaborative, respectful, and guided by the client's experience and goals. People are more able to learn, heal, and grow when they feel safe, understood, and involved in the process.

Trauma-Informed

Sessions prioritise safety, choice, trust, empowerment, collaboration, and awareness of how trauma can affect the body, mind, relationships, and behaviour.

Cognitive & Behavioural

Clients may explore patterns of thinking and behaviour and develop practical ways to respond to challenges, identifying unhelpful patterns and experimenting with new responses.

Somatic

Attention is given to body sensations, movement, breath, tension, activation, and the physical experience of emotions and stress — without requiring clients to disclose more than they are ready to discuss.

Mindfulness & Meditation

Mindfulness practices may support attention, reflection, body awareness, and more intentional responses to daily life and challenges.

Movement & Yoga

Movement-based practices may be used in suitable contexts to develop body awareness, grounding, physical confidence, and connection between mind and body.

An important clarification

The approach used in each session will depend on the service selected, the client's goals, professional assessment, and ongoing collaboration. Not every technique is appropriate for every person or situation. Sessions are adapted to each individual's circumstances, preferences, and level of readiness.
